About the Author
Ronald has many accolades within the study of cyberspace and human rights. He is a Political Science professor at the University of Toronto, earning the University of Toronto Outstanding Teacher award in 2002. Aside from his teaching career, he has many outstanding achievements as well. He is the Director of the Canada Centre for Global Security Studies and the Citizen Lab. Within the Citizen Lab, Ronald continuously researches the integration of the Internet and global security, while looking at the pertaining human rights that are being exploited.
He has many documented reports of cyber-espionage that have occurred throughout the world and have consulted with many governments and international organizations about censorship and surveillance. He is continuously working towards trying to help the average citizen in defending the rights they may not notice have been lost. Although he can not change the many devious acts by governments and large corporations, he deliberately tries to make the citizens who are concerned of their rights and security, aware of what is happening within the world today.
